South African wines are the perfect complement to the cuisine borrowing the best from the Old World while imbuing it with the freshness of New World influences.
With a winemaking history dating back more than 300 years, South African wines reflect Old World classicism but are also influenced by the New World's fruit-driven styles. This rare combination makes for wines which are complex yet accessible, refined yet powerful, eloquently expressing the uniqueness of the Southern tip of Africa. While the noble varieties are all planted here, you'll also find our indigenous Pinotage and, increasingly, plantings of varieties like Grenache, Mourvedre and Viognier. South Africa¡¯s Sauvignon Blanc and Chen in Blanc have been gaining international recognition, as have the Shiraz, Pinotage and red blends.

To experience the warmth of the people, you should taste the sunshine in the wines and celebrate the rainbow cuisine.
