NOTARISATION OF SOUTH AFRICAN DOCUMENTS (COMMISSIONER OF OATHS)
 

The South African Embassy in Seoul is authorised to perform the functions of a Commissioner of Oaths by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO):https://www.dirco.gov.za/sa-missions/

We can assist with signing the documents to be used in the Republic of South Africa only. These documents could be powers of attorney, affidavits, declarations, etc. Please note that the contents of your document(s) are NOT confirmed or verified by the Embassy. Therefore, it is advised that each client use the form(s) provided by the relevant authorities in the Republic of South Africa to comply with their requirements and procedure. You may prepare a statement with your own words if there is no suggested form by the South African authorities. The Embassy does not offer any form or require a certain format. It is essential that you first speak to your South African lawyer before using the services assisted and rendered by the Embassy.

The affiant(s) of your document must be physically present to the South African Embassy in Seoul because our official will witness their signature as a Commissioner of Oaths. You need to provide us with evidence of your identification, such as a South African identity document, smart ID card, valid passport, in ORIGINAL that day. Please note that appointment booking is required for all the visitors to Embassy.

 
REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR APPLICATION:

Applicants are requested to complete the check-list (DOWNLOAD) and prepare all the required information and documentation accordingly. If you send us a scanned copies by e-mail consular.seoul@dirco.gov.za, We can review your documents and advise you further.

 
 
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION:

If all the requirements are ready with you, please visit the South African Embassy in Seoul. Notarial services are provided by appointment only. Walk-in services are NOT available. We send a booking confirmation to each applicant after pre-checking of your documents by e-mail. Please note that only those who have an appointment confirmed by e-mail are admitted to the chancery building. Accompanying person will not be allowed except for minors and elderly people. An appointment signifies the date and time when the applicant for EACH application should appear at the Consular Office. If you have additional application or request (i.e. certified copies, etc.), please let us know.

Applicants must be prepared to provide all the relevant information to our officials on the scheduled appointment day. If you have completed the specimen forms, it will help you a lot to complete the ORIGINAL forms at the Embassy that day.
